Mo's Restaurants are a restaurant chain located on the Oregon Coast and headquartered in Newport, Oregon. Mo's are named after their original owner Mahave "Mo" Niemi, who was once described as "the stuff of legend in Newport".Mo's restaurants serve primarily seafood and have long been noted for their New England style clam chowder, their own locally raised Yaquina Bay oysters and for their casual and friendly atmosphere.Contents1 History 2 Expansion 3 Recognition 4 Notes and References 5 External links // HistoryMo's first opened on the Newport bay front in 1946 as "Freddie & Mo's" 24 hour restaurant that served the local loggers and fisherman such fare as spaghetti and steaks. Niemi's business partner Freddie Kent became ill a few years later and Niemi bought out her partner's shares of the restaurant. In the following years Mo's served more and more seafood, the clam chowder recipe evolved over time as the cooks would vie with each other to produce a better version.Over time Mo's would become a favorite, not just of locals, but of tourists and celebrities as well. Mo's second husband, retired fisherman Kaino "Dutch" Niemi along with friends often gathered at a table contributing to the "family" atmosphere of the restaurant.Great-granddaughter of Mo, Gabrielle McEntee-Wilson recalls in an interview "Granny Mo" saying (in regards to Mo's popularity) "The hippies discovered Mo's" during the 'sixties." According to McEntee-Wilson "It (Mo's) wasn't a conceptt grew on its own and changed over time."Henry Fonda, Paul Newman and other cast members of the film Sometimes a Great Notion (based on a novel by Ken Kesey about a dysfunctional family of Oregon coast loggers) ate there during location filming. Mo appears in one scene of the film as an extra. The scene was filmed in Newport's Old Bay Inn, (renamed the The Snag in the film). Mo and her father once owned the Inn in the early 1940s.Mo opening the garage door.Oregon Governor Tom McCall and Senator Mark Hatfield and other Oregon politicians ate there as well. In 1973 Audrey McCall, wife of the Governor, arranged for the spouses of the Governors attending the Western Governors' Conference to have lunch at Mo's on the waterfront.Senator Robert F. Kennedy and his wife Ethel also visited the restaurant while he was campaigning for the Democratic Party 1968 Oregon primary election on May 24th, 1968.The original Newport Mo's has an unusual front wall for a restaurant. One day a customer accidentally left her car in forward gear instead of reverse while leaving and crashed through the front wall. Mo consoled the woman, saying, "Well, we'll just put in a garage door so we can open it and you can drive in anytime if that's what you want to do". On warm sunny days the door is opened transforming Mo's into a sidewalk cafe. The door itself, pictured at right, remains basically unchanged since its installation and features a picture on its interior showing a woman driving her car through the door, an alarmed look on her face.ExpansionOver the years Niemi opened additional Mo's restaurants, one across the street from the original in Newport overlooking the bay (Mo's Annex) and Mo's West at Otter Rock. The original Mo's was also remodeled and expanded several times, in addition to the restaurant the building now houses a clam chowder factory which provides the base for the restaurants. It is also sold online and is distributed to grocery stores in 14 states. Over the course of a year, the factory will make over 500,000 pounds of fresh chowder. The factory will process one ton of bacon a week and one ton of potatoes per day.The original restaurants and chowder factory are family owned and operate as Mo's Enterprises. In 1970 Mo partnered with another Newport business owner Tom Becker to purchase an oyster farm and formed a company that would become known as Newport Pacific Corporation. This company now operates additional Mo's in Florence, Lincoln City and Cannon Beach. Mo Niemi passed away in 1992. Several of Niemi's surviving family serve on the board of directors of Newport Pacific.RecognitionMo NiemiIn 1999 Mo's clam chowder was served at a Smithsonian Institution luncheon honoring "Best American Regional Foods".In 2001, Cindy McEntee, owner of Mo's Enterprises, was named the Small Business Administration's Small Businessperson of the Year for Oregon and was the first runner-up (of four nationwide nominees) for SBA's National Business Person of the Year. She was lauded during the Oregon presentation "for continuing a tradition of great food and outstanding generosity to employees, customers and community. (McEntee) demonstrates that commitment to serving fellow human beings is the path to business success".Rogue Ales, an Oregon craft brewery, also headquartered in...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about security entry door, interior steel door, . I want to introduct something about Custom Tailored Hand Made Dress Suits An Shirts. Contact me if you would consider selling custom tailored suits that retail for only $99.00 and dress shirts for only $29.95 also custom made.I know your already asking the question what can you get for $99.00 (must be cheap material) well consider this, there are 20 stitches per inch to ensure durability. Even the most expensive ready-made shirts have at the most 12 stitches per inch. There are 10,000 stitches at 120 production steps - in the making of each shirt! For every ounce of weaving thread, two fine cotton threads 1.4 miles long are evenly twisted together, giving a silky-smooth, light poplin that is unusually elegant but also extremely strong. Wide stays hold the collar stiff. The buttons are carefully sewn on and will not fall off like with other shirts. Now let's take this a step further do you think you have what it takes to put together a sales force team that would sell shirts and suits everyday and you would be paid for there sales volume.I think every man deserves at least one(or more) cust Woman jogging with a dogJogging is a form of trotting or running at a slow or leisurely pace. The main intention is to increase fitness with less stress on the body than from faster running.Contents1 Definition 2 History 3 Exercise 4 Notes 5 References 6 External links // DefinitionThe definition of jogging as compared with running is not standard. Dr. George Sheehan, a running expert, is quoted to have said "the difference between a jogger and a runner is an entry blank". Others are usually more specific, defining jogging as running slower than 6 mph (10 minute per mile pace, 10 km/h, 6 min/km).HistoryIn 1593 William Shakespeare wrote in Taming of the Shrew, Katerina tells off a gentleman to go jogging till his boots go green; this was a proverb meaning going when you are most ready or able. The etymology of the word is unknown, but it may be related to shog or be a new invention in the sixteenth century. At that point, it usually meant to leave. The terms to jog and jogging as referring to a form of exercise, originated in England in the mid seventeenth century. This usage became common throughout the British Empire and in his 1884 novel My Run Home the Australian author Rolf Boldrewood wrote "your bedroom curtains were still drawn as I passed on my morning jog".In the United States jogging was also called "roadwork" when athletes in training, such as boxers, customarily ran several miles each day as part of their conditioning. In New Zealand during the 1960s or 1970s the word "roadwork" was mostly supplanted by the word "jogging", promoted by coach Arthur Lydiard, who is generally crediting with popularizing jogging. The idea of jogging as an organised activity was mooted in a sports page article in the New Zealand Herald in February 1962, which told of a group of former athletes and fitness enthusiasts who would meet once a week to run for "fitness and sociability". Since they would be jogging, the newspaper suggested that the club "may be called the Auckland Joggers Club"hich is thought to be the first use of the noun "jogger". University of Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman, after jogging with Lydiard in New Zealand, brought the concept of jogging as exercise to the United States in 1962. Bowerman published the book Jogging in 1966, and later updated the book for a 1967 republication. Bowerman established jogging programs for men and women of all ages. The popularity of these programs helped to spread the concept of jogging, as an exercise for everyone, throughout the United States.ExerciseMembers of the United States Air Force Academy American football team jog on Waikiki Beach, Hawaii.Jogging is often used by serious runners as a means of active recovery during interval training. The runner who may just have completed a fast 400 metre repetition at a sub-5-minute mile pace, may drop to an 8-minute mile pace for a recovery lap.Like other types of aerobic exercise, jogging is an excellent means of improving cardiovascular health, bone density, and physical fitness.Notes^ Running Quotes, Sayings about Runners, Jogging Quotations ^ BBC SPORT Health & Fitness Are you running properly? ^ The Taming of the Shrew ^ Think on My Words ^ Bowerman, William J., W.E. It was released on August 29, 2006 on 5th PROJEKT's Organik Rekords. It explores the metaphysical relationship of humanity as it coexists with its environment and the cycles of which both partake and create. Music and lyrics were written by Tara Rice and/or Sk?dt D. McNalty.Contents1 Around a day 2 Artwork 3 Track listing 4 Singles 5 Videos 6 Charting 7 Personnel On All Cuts 8 Notes // Around a dayIt was a deep interest in the effects of cycles and in the ways human individual rhythms interact with nature that ignited 5th PROJEKT's debut album CiRCADiAN. Produced by members of 5th PROJEKT, recorded from May-November 2005 at Toronto's Chemical Sound with James Heidebrecht, mixed by Ken Andrews (formerly of the band Failure) and mastered by Juno winner Jo?o Carvalho, the album takes on the themes of balance and discovery. The journey begins "In A Coma," "inspired by Yevgeny Zamyatin's 1924 novel We, a precursor to such dystopian classics as Brave New World and Nineteen Eighty-Four, this haunting, relentlessly propulsive track could be an instrumental and it would still manage to articulate the essence of the lyrics: muffled panic, emotional numbness and an unvanquished longing for a better world." The opening piece sets the pace for the dreamlike lyrical exploration and the atmospheric compositions that characterize the album. The goal of the album is to capture humanity in all its diverse facets. The images that the music invokes are as various as the individuals who listen. In "One to Throw Away," the central theme of disdain for the blatant disregard of ecosystems, both within ourselves and in the world around us, comes to light while the music paints a backdrop of darkness. As the multi-layered "Resistance" tells us "they appear as quickly as they escape, these dreams and revelations." And so do the images conjured up by the songs, elusive as da vu. If any of it rings true or strikes a chord in the psyche of any one listener, then CiRCADiAN's cycle is complete.ArtworkThe CD album was hand packaged in circular aluminum tins reminiscent of old cinema reel canisters, symbolic for the bands' cinematic sound and also for the conceptual approach to infinite cycles as they are influenced by the heavenly orbs of the sun and moon. The lid of the tin displays an ambigram of the title "CiRCADiAN," further emphasizing the predominant themes of unity and balance. Reinforcing these themes, the liner notes are also bound in a circular booklet depicting a clear glossed graphic interpretation of an eclipse on the front and back covers. The CD album face is silkscreened in an homage to the vinyl 45s that were instrumental in leading each member to fall in love with music as young children, and complete the cycle by becoming the music maker later in their lives.Track listing"Las Ventanas" (5th PROJEKT) 1:19 "In a Coma..." The name is derived from a type of seaweed that is abundant along the Irish coastline. Gelatinous extracts of the Chondrus crispus seaweed have been used as food additives for hundreds of years, though analysis of carrageenan safety as an additive continues.Contents1 Properties 2 Uses 2.1 Sexual lubricant and microbicide 2.1.1 HSV 2.1.2 HPV 2.1.3 HIV 3 Health concerns 4 See also 5 References // PropertiesCarrageenans are large, highly flexible molecules which curl forming helical structures. This gives them the ability to form a variety of different gels at room temperature. They are widely used in the food and other industries as thickening and stabilizing agents. A particular advantage is that they are pseudoplastic they thin under shear stress and recover their viscosity once the stress is removed. This means that they are easy to pump but stiffen again afterwards. There are three main commercial classes of carrageenan:Kappa strong, rigid gels. Produced from Kappaphycus cottonii Iota soft gels. Produced from Eucheuma spinosum Lambda form gels when mixed with proteins rather than water, used to thicken dairy products. The most common source is Gigartina from Southern Europe. Many red algal species produce different types of carrageenans during their developmental history. For instance, the genus Gigartina produces mainly Kappa carrageenans during its gametophytic stage, and Lambda carrageenans during its sporophytic stage. See Alternation of generations. All are soluble in hot water, but in cold water only the Lambda form (and the sodium salts of the other two) are soluble. When used in food products, carrageenan has the EU additive E-number E407 or E407a when present as "Processed eucheuma seaweed". Although introduced on an industrial scale in the 1930s, the first use was in China around 600 BC (where Gigartina was used) and in Ireland around 400 AD.The largest producer is the Philippines, where cultivated seaweed produces about 80% of the world supply. The most commonly used are Cottonii (Kappaphycus alvarezii, K.striatum) and Spinosum (Eucheuma denticulatum), which together provide about three quarters of the world production. These grow at sea level down to about 2 metres. The seaweed is normally grown on nylon lines strung between bamboo floats and harvested after three months or so when each plant weighs around 1 kg.The Cottonii variety has been reclassified as Kappaphycus cottonii by Maxwell Doty (1988), thereby introducing the genus Kappaphycus, on the basis of the phycocolloids produced (namely kappa carrageenan). After harvest, the seaweed is dried, baled, and sent to the carrageenan manufacturer. There the seaweed is ground, sifted to remove impurities such as sand, and washed thoroughly. After treatment with hot alkali solution (e.g. 5-8% potassium hydroxide), the cellulose is removed from the carrageenan by centrifugation and filtration. The resulting carrageenan solution is then concentrated by evaporation. It is dried and ground to specification.UsesDesserts, ice cream, milk shakes, sweetened condensed milks, sauces gel to increase viscosity Beer clarifier to remove haze-causing proteins Pat and processed meat Substitute fat to increase water retention and increase volume Toothpaste stabilizer to prevent constituents separating Fruit Gushers ingredient in the encapsulated gel. Fire fighting foam thickener to cause foam to become sticky Shampoo and cosmetic creams thickener Air freshener gels Marbling -- the ancient art of paper and fabric marbling uses a carrageenan mixture to float paints or inks upon; the paper or fabric is then laid on it, absorbing the colors. Shoe polish gel to increase viscosity Biotechnology gel to immobilize cells/enzymes Pharmaceuticals used as an inactive excipient in pills/tablets Carrageenan has also been used to thicken skim milk, in an attempt to emulate the consistency of whole milk. This usage did not become popular. It's used in some brands of soy milk Diet sodas Soy milk Personal lubricants Lambda carrageenan is used in animal models of inflammation used to test analgesics, because dilute carrageenan solution (1-2%) injected subcutaneously causes swelling and pain. Sexual lubricant and microbicideLaboratory studies suggest that carrageenans might function as topical microbicides, blocking sexually transmitted viruses such as HPV and herpes, though not HIV.HSVThere are indications that a carrageenan-based gel may offer some protection against HSV-2 transmission by binding to the receptors...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about , . In addition to being an art form in its own right, calligraphy has also influenced ink and wash painting, which is accomplished using similar tools and techniques. The East Asian tradition of calligraphy originated and developed from China, specifically the ink and brush writing of Chinese characters. There is a general standardization of the various styles of calligraphy in the East Asian tradition. Calligraphy has also led to the development of many other forms of art in East Asia, including seal carving, ornate paperweights, and inkstones.Contents1 Tools: The Four Treasures of the Study 1.1 Paper, paperweight and desk pad 1.2 Ink and Inkstick 1.3 Inkstone 1.4 Brush 1.5 Seal and Seal paste 2 Study 3 Noted calligraphers 3.1 China 3.2 Japan 3.3 Korea 4 See also 5 References 6 External links // Tools: The Four Treasures of the StudyThe ink brush, ink, paper, and inkstone are essential implements of East Asian calligraphy: they are known together as the Four Treasures of the Study (T: ???? / S: ????) in China, and as the Four Friends of the Study (HG: ???? / HJ: ????) in Korea. In addition to these four tools, desk pads and paperweights are also used by calligraphers.Paper, paperweight and desk padPaper Scheme of Chinese calligraphy paper (for beginners): page, paperweight, desk pad and usage.Special types of paper are used in East Asian calligraphy. In China, Xuanzhi (??), traditionally made in Anhui province, is the preferred type of paper. It is made from the Tartar wingceltis (Pteroceltis tartarianovii), as well as other materials including rice, the paper mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera), bamboo, hemp, etc. In Japan, washi is made from the kozo (paper mulberry), ganpi (Wikstroemia sikokiana), and mitsumata (Edgeworthia papyrifera), as well as other materials like bamboo, hemp, rice, and wheat.Paperweight Paperweights are used to weigh down paper. Paperweights come in several types: some are oblong wooden blocks carved with calligraphic or pictorial designs; others are essentially small sculptures of people or animals. Like inkstones, paperweights are collectible works of art on their own right.Desk pad The desk pad (Chinese T: ??, S: ??, Pinyin: huh?n; Japanese: ?? shitajiki) is a pad made of felt. Some are printed with grids on both sides, so that when it is placed under the translucent paper, it can be used as a guide to ensure correct placement and size of characters. These printed pads are used only by students. Both desk pads and the printed grids come in a variety of sizes.Ink and InkstickScheme of Chinese Inkstone, Ink Stick, and technique to use them. The ink is made from lampblack (soot) and binders, and comes in inksticks which must be rubbed with water on an inkstone until the right consistency is achieved. Much cheaper, pre-mixed bottled inks are now available, but these are used primarily for practice as stick inks are considered higher quality and chemical inks are more prone to bleeding over time, making them less suitable for use in hanging scrolls. Learning to rub the ink is an essential part of calligraphy study. Traditionally, East Asian calligraphy is written only in black ink, but modern calligraphers sometimes use other colours. Calligraphy teachers use a bright orange or red ink with which they write practice characters for students and correct students' work.InkstoneA stone or ceramic inkstone is used to rub the solid inkstick into liquid ink and to contain the ink once it is liquid. Chinese inkstones are highly prized as art objects and an extensive bibliography is dedicated to their history and appreciation, especially in China.BrushMain article: Ink brushThe brush is the traditional writing implement in East Asian calligraphy. The M90 (Model 1990) is in camouflage colors, but as such it exists only in two schemes, woodland and desert. The desert type is new and was handed out to the Swedish contingent in Afghanistan in 2006. The uniform has also been undergoing some R&D lately, and it is possible that new materials such as Gore Tex and Kevlar will be used in the future to further strengthen and adapt the uniform to special conditions. It also exists different combat variants like the M90P, which stands for Model 1990 Pansar, i.e. special uniform for the armoured units and Tank regiments (Pansarregemente). This uniform has more different kinds of pockets, like clip pockets. The tank crews normally does not wear combat vests because of the narrow space inside the tanks.HistoryTowards the end of the 17th century Swedish king Karl XI started to reform his army. He brought in new equipment, new tactics and new formations. Transforming the northern country into a military state much like 18th century Prussia. Karl XI also introduced Sweden's, and possibly the world's, first standard issue army uniform in 1693.The king was very detail minded, and so he checked the individual soldiers and units many times over the years. Testing their equipment and looking over their uniforms. It was completed by 1853 as an Italian villa style summer home. Adelicia and Joseph used Belmont as a summer home to escape from the heat of Adelicia's seven Louisiana cotton plantations, which totaled 8,600acres (35km2). The Acklens built, furnished, and landscaped one of the most elaborate antebellum homes in the South, totaling 36 rooms and 19,000sqft (1,800m2). The estate contained a variety of buildings with the house adorning the top of the hill. Beside the house, there was a T-shaped guest house and art gallery. The south wing of the guest house contained guestrooms and a bowling alley. The art gallery had a corrugated glass roof and comprised the north wing. The grounds also included lavish gardens, conservatories, aviary, lake and a zoo. The conservatories housed tropical fruit and flowers along with camellia japonica, jasmine, liles, and cacti. The zoo featured bears, monkeys, peacocks, singing birds, a white owl, alligators from Louisiana and a deer park. Covered balconies with cast iron railing and trim surrounded the house to protect windows from the sun. Atop the house, a ten-foot octagonal cupola vented the house during the summer months and provided an "astronomical observatory" used for viewing the stars, the estate and downtown Nashville.Adelicia with her horse Bucephalus.Joseph and Adelicia had six children together, but their twins died of scarlet fever at the age of 2 in 1855. In 1863, Joseph died in Louisiana while watching over the plantations during the Civil War. Left alone, Adelicia secretly negotiated agreements with both Union and Confederate authorities to allow 2,800 bales of her cotton to be shipped to Liverpool, England, and sold for a total of $960,000.Despite a two-week occupation by Union General Thomas J. Wood prior to the Battle of Nashville, Belmont Mansion and its contents went undamaged during the Civil War. Only the grounds, where thirteen thousand Union troops spent those first two weeks of December 1864, suffered damage.Immediately following the war, Adelicia and her four children traveled to Europe. While there, she continued amassing her large art collection, including five major marble statues by America's most important sculptors working in Rome. These including works by Randolph Rodgers, William Rinehart, Joseph Mozier, and Chauncey B. Ives. Four of these pieces remain in the mansion today. Adelicia was also presented at the Court of Emperor Louis Napoleon and his wife Empress Eugie.Months before her death, Adelicia sold Belmont, and the surrounding land, to Lewis T. Baxter for around $54,000. In 1890, it opened as a women's academy and junior college. The school merged with Ward's Seminary in 1913 and was renamed Ward-Belmont. The Tennessee Baptist Convention purchased the school in 1951, and created a four-year, coeducational college. In 1989, Belmont University separated from the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Today the mansion is owned by the Belmont Mansion Association and Belmont University while it is operated and preserved by the Belmont Mansion Association. The Grounds of Belmont Mansion ca. 1860. This oil copy was painted in 1983 for Mrs. Ellen Stokes Weymss by Cass Holly.Gilt frame mirrors hang over marble mantels reflecting the elaborate gasoliers and elegantly furnished parlors. Much of the original Venetian glass still adorns the windows, doors, and transoms of Belmont. The Grand Salon is considered by architectural historians to be the most elaborate domestic interior built in antebellum Tennessee. The gardens are now maintained as part of the University campus, including five cast iron gazebos. The 105-foot (32m) water tower remains on the grounds and today serves as a Bell Tower for Belmont University. The Belmont Mansion was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.Many notable visitors to the home include Mrs. James K. Polk, William Walker, Augustin Iturbide, Dwight L. (April 2008)The Fernald Feed Materials Production Center (commonly referred to simply as Fernald) was a uranium processing facility located near the rural town of Fernald, in Hamilton County, Ohio, about 20 miles northwest of Cincinnati, which fabricated uranium fuel cores for the U.S. nuclear weapons production complex from 1951 to 1989.Contents1 History 2 Production facilities 2.1 Plant 1 2.2 Plant 2/3 2.3 Plant 4 2.4 Plant 5 2.5 Plant 6 2.6 Plant 7 2.7 Plant 8 2.8 Plant 9 2.9 Pilot Plant 3 See also 4 References 5 External links // HistoryThe neutrality of this article is disputed. Please see the discussion on the talk page. Please do not remove this message until the dispute is resolved. (April 2008)In 1948 the Atomic Energy Commission, predecessor to the U.S. Department of Energy, established large scale integrated facility for the production of fabricated uranium fuel cores by chemical and metallurgical techniques." The plant was known as the Feed Materials Production Center since the uranium fuel cores it produced were the eed for the AEC plutonium production reactors.1 These nuclear reactors were located at Oak Ridge in Tennessee, the Savannah River Site in South Carolina and at Hanford in the state of Washington. The uranium metal produced was in the form of derbies, ingots, billets and fuel cores.1 The FMPC also served as the country central repository for another radioactive metal, Thorium. The plant was located in the rural town of Fernald which is about 20 miles northwest of Cincinnati, Ohio and occupies 1,050 acres. This location was chosen because it was between the uranium ore delivery ports of New York and New Orleans, and it was accessible to the other main AEC sites. In addition, the site was close to Cincinnati large labor force, the landscape was level making the site construction easy, it was isolated which provided safety and security, and it was located 30 to 50 feet above a large water aquifer which supplied the water needed for uranium metal processing. From 1951 to 1989 Fernald converted uranium ore into metal, and then fabricated this metal into target elements for nuclear reactors. Annual production rates ranged from a high in 1960 of 10,000 metric tons to a low in 1975 of 1,230 metric tons.2 Refining uranium metal was a process requiring a series of chemical and metallurgical conversions that occured in nine specialized plants at the site.Releases from the Fernald site to the surrounding area resulting in exposure to community residents included ionizing radiation, soluble and insoluble forms of uranium, and various other hazardous chemicals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has conducted a historical exposure characterization and developed dose estimation models through the Fernald Dose Reconstruction Project, with an endpoint of developing an algorithm to estimate doses to individual persons who lived within the exposure assessment domain (the area within a ten kilometer radius from the center of the plant site). In addition to radioactive materials, many other non-radiological toxic substances were present in the production area as materials, by-products or products. Workers were exposed to chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents, metals and metal salts, and nuisance dusts.3-10 Community residents may have been exposed to these substances through ground water pathways, soil contamination, and air dispersion of emissions from the site. Two separate medical surveillance programs, for former workers and community residents, have been funded by settlements of class action litigation against National Lead of Ohio, a contractor for the DOE. These Fernald Settlement Funds are administered by the US Federal Court, which maintains oversight of the Fernald Medical Monitoring Programs. The Fernald (Residents) Medical Monitoring Program (FMMP) is a voluntary ongoing medical surveillance program for community residents living within five miles of the perimeter of the Fernald site, and the Fernald Workers Medical Monitoring Program (FWMMP) is a program for former workers who were employed when National Lead of Ohio was the contractor. Activities of the medical monitoring programs include both periodic medical examinations and diagnostic testing and yearly questionnaire data collection. As of January 1, 2007 there were 9764 persons enrolled in the FMMP and 2716 former workers enrolled in the FWMMP. The FMMP has an extensive computer database available for research studies. Macula densa
I want to introduct something about Retractable ball pen EC-177. 1)Retractable ball pen 2) Refill tip:0.7mm/1.0mm 3)One color printing on the clip 4)soft grip with black color In the kidney, the macula densa is an area of closely packed specialized cells lining the wall of the distal convoluted tubule (DCT) at the point of return of the nephron to the vascular pole of its parent glomerulus glomerular vascular pole. The cells of the macula densa are sensitive to the ionic content and water volume of the fluid in the DCT. If low water volume is detected by these cells, they will produce molecular signals that promote renin secretion by other cells of the juxtaglomerular apparatus. The release of renin is an essential component of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), which regulates blood pressure and volume.Contents1 Histology 2 Function 3 References 4 External links // HistologyThe cells of the macula densa are taller and have more prominent nuclei than surrounding cells of the distal convoluted tubule. The close proximity and prominence of the nuclei cause this segment of the DCT wall to appear darker in microscopic preparations, hence the name macula densa.FunctionSchematic depicting how the RAAS works. Here, activation of the RAAS is initiated by a low perfusion pressure in the juxtaglomerular apparatusA decrease in blood pressure corresponds to a decreased concentration of sodium and chloride ions at the macula densa and triggers an autoregulatory response to increase reabsorption of ions and water in order to return blood pressure to normal. Reduced blood pressure means decreased venous pressure and hence a decreased peritubular capillary pressure. This causes a smaller capillary hydrostatic pressure which causes an increased absorption of sodium ions into the vasa recta at the proximal tubule. Because of this increased absorption, less NaCl is present at the distal tubule which is where the macula densa is located. The macula densa senses this drop in salt concentration and responds through two mechanisms: first, it triggers dilation of the renal afferent arteriole, decreasing afferent arteriole resistance and thus offsetting the decrease in glomerular hydrostatic pressure caused by the drop in blood pressure. Second macula densa cells release prostaglandins, which triggers granular juxtaglomerular cells lining the afferent arterioles to release renin into the bloodstream. (The juxtaglomerular cells can also release renin independently of the macula densa, as they are also triggered by baroreceptors lining the arterioles, and release renin if a fall in blood pressure in the arterioles is detected.) Furthermore, activation of the sympathetic nervous system stimulates renin release through activation of beta-1 receptors. The process triggered by the Macula densa helps keep the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) fairly steady in response to varying artery pressure, due to dilation of the afferent arterioles and the action of Renin, which triggers constriction of the efferent arterioles, both of which increase hydrostatic pressure in the glomerulus.References^ Junqueira, Luiz C.; Jose Carneiro (2003). The show served as a launchpad for the television and acting careers of Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera. Since 2002, two Jackass theatrical films have been produced and released by MTV corporate sibling Paramount Pictures, continuing the franchise after its run on television. It is one of MTV's most popular shows ever and sparked several spin-offs including Viva La Bam, Wildboyz, Homewrecker, Dr. Steve-O, and Blastazoid. In 2008, Entertainment Weekly called Jackass the 68th greatest show of the past 25 years Contents1 History 1.1 Birth of the show 1.2 Controversy 1.3 Ending and farewell 1.4 Jackass: The Movie 1.5 Life after Jackass 1.6 Jackass Number Two 1.7 Possible return and Jackassworld 2 Jackass: The Game 3 Cast and Crew 3.1 Main Cast Members 3.2 Recurring Cast Members 3.3 Crew 3.4 Celebrity appearances 4 Similar groups 5 References 6 External links // HistoryBirth of the showThe show developed from Big Brother Magazine, a skateboarding-related humor magazine that Jeff Tremaine, Dave Carnie, Rick Kosick and Chris Pontius all worked for, and featured regular contributions from Johnny Knoxville and Dave England, among others. The concept of Jackass dates back to 1999 when struggling-actor-turned-writer Johnny Knoxville birthed the idea to test different self defense devices on himself as the basis for an article. He pitched the idea to a couple of magazines and was turned down until meeting with Jeff Tremaine of Big Brother. Jeff hired him as a journalist and convinced Johnny to videotape this idea and other stunts for stories. The footage, which involved Knoxville being tasered, maced, and ultimately shot while wearing a bulletproof vest, appeared in the second Big Brother skateboarding movie Number Two (which is also the title of the second Jackass theatrical film) Johnny and the videos quickly became a hit. Future Jackass castmember Wee-Man made an appearance in the videos, and Florida clown Steve-O would send in submissions to be part of the videos. Big Brother would go on road trips, which is believed to be where Johnny met Bam Margera and they became good friends. In addition to skateboarding, Bam Margera had recently released a movie entitled Landspeed:CKY which consisted of himself and his friends, which he dubbed the "CKY Crew", in West Chester, Pennsylvania performing various skits and stunts. Among the Crew included the colorful cast of Ryan Dunn, Brandon Dicamillo, as well as Margera's family April, Phil, Don Vito, and Jess Margera. Jeff Tremaine saw the tapes and drafted Bam and his crew into what would become the cast of Jackass. Later, the Jackass crew would personally recruit Steve-O in a Florida Flea Market where he worked as a clown for part of the show. To round out the cast, Dave England brought in his friend Ehren McGhehey, a fellow Oregon resident and extreme stunt participator. Tremaine drafted his friend, director Spike Jonze to get involved with the show, and together, he, Jonze, and Johnny Knoxville served as executive producers. The idea show was pitched, and the cast was initially given an offer by Saturday Night Live to perform the stunts weekly for the show, though the offer was turned down. A bidding war eventually occurred between Comedy Central and MTV, which MTV eventually won. It was then that Jackass was born. ControversySince the first episode, Jackass frequently featured warnings and disclaimers noting that the stunts performed were dangerous and should not be imitated, and that recordings of any stunts would not be aired on MTV. Such warnings not only appeared before and after each program and after each commercial break, but also in a "crawl" that ran along the bottom of the screen during some especially risky stunts. Nevertheless, the program has been blamed for a number of deaths and injuries involving teens and children recreating the stunts.[citation needed]On January 29, 2001, U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman publicly...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about new pocket watches, aluminium foil containers, . They are most frequently held by teens and may be combined with a birthday party or other special occasion. Another common type of a sleepover is a lock-in, where the participants stay at a public place.Common activitiesTypical participant activities include staying up late, talking, eating and playing until falling asleep, which sometimes never happens for a few energy-high guests. Sleepovers are usually held at one participant's house, with other guests sometimes bringing their bedtime things, such as pillows or sleeping bags. Common activities include playing board games or video games, having pillow fights, watching movies, ordering pizza, eating sweets, playing party games such as Truth or Dare and light as a feather, stiff as a board, building forts out of pillows and blankets, or, for girls, having a "spa night", in which girls polish their nails and toes and put on face masks. Sleepovers are practiced by both girls and boys. Sometimes, sleepovers can have a theme, like dressing up as a favorite book character or a Christmas or Halloween sleepover.v?d?eSleepSleep stagesRapid eye movement sleep Non-rapid eye movement sleep Slow-wave sleepBrain wavesAlpha wave Beta wave Gamma wave Delta wave Theta rhythmSleep disordersAdvanced sleep phase syndrome Automatic behavior Circadian rhythm sleep disorder Delayed sleep phase syndrome Dyssomnia Hypersomnia Insomnia Narcolepsy Night eating syndrome Night terror Nocturia Nocturnal myoclonus Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome Obesity hypoventilation syndrome Ondine's curse Parasomnia Sleep apnea Sleep deprivation Sleeping sickness Sleepwalking SomniloquyBenign phenomenaDream Exploding head syndrome False awakening Hypnagogia Hypnic jerk Lucid dream Nightmare Nocturnal emission Sleep paralysis SomnolenceRelated topicsBed (Bunk bed, Four poster bed, Futon, Hammock, Mattress) Bed bug Bedding Bedroom Bedtime Bedtime toy Bedtime story Caffeine nap Chronotype Dream journal Jet lag Lullaby Nap Nightwear Polyphasic sleep Power nap Siesta Sleep and creativity Sleep and learning Sleep debt Sleep diary Sleep inertia Sleep medicine Sleeping while on duty Sleepover Snoring Excessive daytime sleepinessThis culture-related article is a stub. As an evidence of this is a III century B.C. bronze man's head discovered in the village countryside in 1847 and currently stored at the Bibliothue Nationale de France.Starting from the XIV century, the village was under the influence of the Kingdom of Naples through the Aragon and the D'Avalos families, of Spanish origin, which held possessions in the nearby coastal town of Vasto. The name Lipioni is thought indeed to be derived from the Spanish los peones (unskilled labourers), referring to the predominant peasantry condition and sheep-rearing activity of the village's inhabitants. Subsequently, until 1861 the village was under control of the Caracciolo families, always within the Kingdom of Naples territory. Among the most important families of the village is nowadays the Rossi family, lawyers and medical doctors, owners of an important and ancient historical house. The building is now the focus of a judicial process between the heirs of the family.EconomyThe village essentially lives on agriculture like the neighbouring ones. The majority of the working population is employed in the sector, and production is geared towards local and family consumption. The main produces are wine and extravirgin olive oil (renowned outside the region for its quality), along with wheat, corn, cherries, apples, walnuts, almonds, artichokes, tomatoes, and peppers.San Giovanni Lipioni at dusk, viewed from the foot of Colle VernonePeopleAfter the end of World War II, because of severe poverty and high unemployment, the village suffered a considerable emigration towards richer Northern Italy areas, especially in the town of Bologna, where a sizeable community live nowadays. A small number also migrated to Belgium, in the Charleroi area to work in the local coal mines, and France by subsequently settling there. From around 900 units in 1951, the population halved to 457 in 1982, and down to 371 in 1991, according to official ISTAT statistics. In 2001 the total population plummeted to 271 units and as of 2006, the stable residents are less than 250, of which those aged 65+ account for half of the total.TerritoryThe village lies at an altitude of 545 metres. The territory's highest peaks are Colle Vernone (717 m) overlooking the village, and the mountain Il Monte (693 m) facing it. Oaks and beeches are the predominant trees, along with firs and pinetrees. Olive trees are also quite widespread over the territory, followed by fig, apple and cherry trees. Bush vegetation includes several type of wild berries and yellow brooms blooming in mid-springtime. Fauna features increasing numbers of boars and foxes, owls, and a few EU-protected species of kites (Milvus milvus and Milvus migrans) that nest in the woods of Il Monte and its vicinity. The nearest villages are Torrebruna and Celenza sul Trigno at a distance of 7 km each. The river Trigno separating Abruzzo from Molise runs in the valley beneath the village 5.5 km far.Things to See:The historical centre perched on the hilltop with its many old (some refurbished) hard-and-rough stone houses, the maze of tiny alleys, and the XVII-century church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, sitting at the top of a 200+ steps path starting from the pedestrianised main square Piazza Largo del Popolo. The populations in Italy, southeast Europe, and Asia Minor and the Caucasus are sometimes treated as separate species, Q. brutia Tenore, Q. pedunculiflora K. Koch and Q. haas Kotschy respectively.A close relative is the Sessile Oak (Q. petraea), which shares much of its range. Q. robur is distinguished from this species by its leaves having only a very short stalk 38mm long, and by its pendunculate acorns. The two often hybridise in the wild, the hybrid being known as Quercus rosacea.DescriptionAn old English oak in Baginton, EnglandQ. robur is a large deciduous tree 2535m tall (exceptionally to 50m), with lobed and nearly sessile (very short-stalked) leaves 714cm long. Flowering takes place in mid spring, and their fruit, called acorns, ripen by the following autumn. The acorns are 22.5cm long, pedunculate (having a peduncle or acorn-stalk, 37cm long) with one to four acorns on each peduncle. It is a long-lived tree, with a large widespreading crown of rugged branches. While it may naturally live to an age of a few centuries, many of the oldest trees are pollarded or coppiced, both pruning techniques that extend the tree's potential lifespan, if not its health. A specimen of notable longevity is one in Stelmu??, Lithuania which is believed to be approximately 1,500 years old, possibly making it the oldest oak in Europe; another specimen, called the 'Kongeegen' ('Kings Oak'), estimated to be about 1,200 years old, grows in Jaegerspris, Denmark. Yet another can be found in Kvilleken, Sweden, .It is over 1,000 years old and 14 meters around. Of maiden (not pollarded) specimens, one of the oldest is the great oak of Ivenack, Germany. Tree-ring research of this tree and other oaks nearby gives an estimated age of 700 to 800 years old. Also the 'Bowthorpe Oak' in Lincolnshire, England is estimated to be 1,000 years old making it the oldest in the UK.Ecological importanceThe Gyula Juhz memorial tree in MakWithin its native range Q. robur is valued for its importance to insects and other wildlife. Numerous insects live on the leaves, buds, and in the acorns. The acorns form a valuable food resource for several small mammals and some birds, notably Eurasian Jays Garrulus glandarius. Jays were overwhelmingly the primary propagators of oaks before humans began planting them commercially, because of their habit of taking acorns from the umbra of its parent tree and burying it undamaged elsewhere. Mammals, notably squirrels who tend to hoard acorns and other nuts most often leave them too abused to grow in the action of moving or storing them.Commercial ForestryQuercus robur' is planted for forestry, and produces a long-lasting and durable heartwood, much in demand for interior and furniture work. The wood of Q. robur is identified by a close examination of a cross-section perpendicular to fibres. The wood is characterised by its distinct (often wide) dark and light brown growth rings. The earlywood displays a vast number of large vessels (~0.5 mm diameter). There are rays of thin (~0.1 mm) yellow or light brown lines running across the growth rings.Cultivars and hybridsA number of cultivars are grown in arboreta and in parks and gardens. The most common cultivar is Quercus robur 'Fastigiata', and is the exception among Q. robur cultivars which are generally smaller than the standard tree, growing to between 10-15 m and exhibit unusual leaf or crown shape characteristics.Quercus robur 'Fastigiata' ("Cypress Oak"), probably the most common cultivated form, it grows to a large imposing tree with a narrow columnar habit. The fastigiate oak was originally propagated from an upright tree that was found in central Europe....(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about seaweed fertilizer, tricycle bike, . It is inversely proportional to the deceleration high number indicates a low deceleration. BC is a function of mass, diameter, and drag coefficient. It is given by the mass of the object divided by the diameter squared that it presents to the airflow divided by a dimensionless constant i that relates to the aerodynamics of its shape. Ballistic coefficient has units of lb/in2 or kg/m2. Normally BC's are stated in lb/in2 by gun projectiles producers without referring to this unit.Contents1 Formula 2 Bullet performance 2.1 General trends 2.2 The transient nature of bullet bcs 3 Satellites and reentry vehicles 4 See also 5 Freeware small arms ballistic coefficient calculators 6 References // FormulaThe formula for calculating the ballistic coefficient for a body is as follows:where:BC = ballistic coefficient M = mass A = cross-sectional area Cd = drag coefficient ? (rho) = average density l = body length Bullet performanceThe formula for calculating the ballistic coefficient for a bullet is as follows:where:BC = ballistic coefficient SD = sectional density, SD = mass of bullet in pounds or kilograms divided by its caliber squared in inches or meters; units are lb/in2 or kg/m2. i = form factor, i = drag coefficient of the bullet/drag coefficient of G1 model bullet (G1 drag coefficient = 0.5190793992194678)[verification needed] M = Mass of object, lb or kg d = diameter of the object, in or m This BC formula gives the ratio of ballistic efficiency compared to the standard G1 model projectile. The standard projectile originates from the "C" standard reference projectile defined by the German steel, ammunition and armaments manufacturer Krupp in 1881. The G1 model standard projectile has a BC of 1. The French Gavre Commission decided to use this projectile as their first reference projectile, giving the G1 name.A bullet with a high BC will travel farther than one with a low BC since it will retain its velocity better as it flies downrange from the muzzle, will resist the wind better, and will hoot flatter (see external ballistics). When hunting with a rifle, a higher BC is desirable for several reasons. A higher BC results in a flatter trajectory which in turn reduces the effect of errors in estimating the distance to the target. This is particularly important when attempting a clean hit on the vitals of a game animal. If the target animal is closer than estimated, then the bullet will hit higher than expected. Conversely, if the animal is further than estimated the bullet will hit lower than expected. Such a difference in bullet drop can often make the difference between a clean kill and a wounded animal. This difference in trajectories becomes more critical at longer ranges. For some cartridges, the difference in two bullet designs fired from the same rifle can result in a difference between the two of over 30 cm (1 foot) at 500 meters (550 yards). The difference in impact energy can also be great because kinetic energy depends on the square of the velocity. A bullet with a high BC arrives at the target faster and with more energy than one with a low BC.Since the higher BC bullet gets to the target faster, it is also less affected by the crosswinds.General trendsSporting bullets, with a calibre d ranging from 0.177 to 0.50 inches (4.50 to 12.7 mm), have BC in the range 0.12 to slightly over 1.00, with high being the most aerodynamic, and low being the least. Very-low-drag bullets with BC's ? 1.10 can be designed and produced on CNC precision lathes out of mono-metal rods, but they often have to be fired from custom made full bore rifles with special barrels.Ammunition makers often offer several bullet weights and types for a given cartridge. Heavy-for-caliber pointed (spitzer) bullets with a boattail design have the high BC's, whereas lighter bullets with square tails and blunt noses have lower BCs. The 6 mm and 6.5 mm cartridges are probably the most well known for having high BC bullets and are often used in long range target matches of 300-1000 meters. The 6 and 6.5 have relatively light recoil compared to larger calibers with high BC bullets and tend to take matches where accuracy is key. Examples include the 6mm PPC, 6 mm BR Norma, 6 x 47 SM, 6.5 Grendel and the 6.5-284. The 6.5 mm is also a very popular hunting caliber in Europe. In the United States, hunting cartridges such as the .25-06 Remington (a 6.35 mm caliber), the .270 Winchester (a 6.8 mm caliber), and the 7 mm-08 Remington (a .284" caliber) are used when high BCs and moderate recoil are desired. History of Stationery
Originally the term "stationery" referred to all products sold by a stationer, whose name indicates that his book shop was on a fixed spot, usually near a university, and permanent, while medieval trading was mainly ambulant, by peddlers (including chapmen, who sold books) and others (such as farmers and craftsmen) at non-permanent markets such as fairs. It was a special term used between the 13th and 15th centuries in the Manuscript culture.
Though decreasingly popular in western culture, stationery has been an important part of good social etiquette, particularly since the Victorian era. Some usages of stationery, such as sending a manufactured reply card to a wedding invitation, has changed from offensive to appropriate. Many of these social guidelines may have been defined by the manufacturers of stationery products themselves, such as "Crane's Blue Book of Stationery" showing so much influence by Crane & Co. that the company name is included in the title, though written by an independent author.
The usage and marketing of stationery is a niche industry that is increasingly threatened by electronic media. As stationery is intrinsically linked to paper and the process of written, personalized communication, many techniques of stationery manufacture are employed, of varying desirability and expense. The most familiar of these techniques are letterpress printing, embossing, engraving, and thermographic printing (often confused with thermography). Flat printing and offset printing are regularly used, particularly for low cost or informal needs.
Styles of Printed Stationery Techniques
Letterpress Printing
Example of inked letterpress process
Letterpress is a printing method that results in letters that are recessed upon the printed page. The print may be inked or blind but is typically done in a single color. Motifs or designs may be added as many letterpress machines use movable plates that must be hand-set.
Embossing
Example of an embossed design
Embossing is a printing technique used to create raised surfaces in the converted paper stock. The process relies upon mated dies that press the paper into a shape that can be observed on both the front and back surfaces.
Engraving
Example of a brass engraving plate, showing heavy wear. The plate is hand or machine engraved, inked, and forced into paper at extremely high pressures.
Engraving is a process that requires a design to be cut into a plate made of a relatively hard material. It is a technology with a long history and requires significant skill and experience. The finished plate is usually covered in ink, and then the ink is removed from all of the un-etched portions of the plate. The plate is then pressed into paper under substantial pressure. The result is a design that is slightly raised on the surface of the paper and covered in ink. Due to the cost of the process and expertise required, many consumers opt for thermographic printing, a process that results in a similarly raised print surface, but through different means at less cost.
Thermographic Printing
Example of thermographic printing. The uneven quality of the text is a result of the process and easily differentiates thermographic printing from engraving
Thermographic printing is a process that involves several stages but can be implemented in a low-cost manufacturing process. The process involves printing the desired designs or text with an ink that remains wet, rather than drying on contact with the paper. The paper is then dusted with a powdered polymer that adheres to the ink. The paper is vacuumed or agitated, mechanically or by hand, to remove excess powder, and then heated to near combustion. The wet ink and polymer bond and dry, resulting in a raised print surface similar to the result of an engraving process.

As expectations regarding good manners differ from person to person and vary according to each situation, no treatise on the rules of etiquette nor any list of faux pas can ever be complete. As the perception of behaviors and actions vary, intercultural competence is essential. However, a lack of knowledge about the customs and expectations of people of Latin America can make even the best intentioned person seem rude, foolish, or worse.

Generalizations
There are several definitions of Latin America, but all of them define a huge expansive of geography with an incalculable amount of different customs, However, some generalizations can be made:
As every definition of Latin America connotes a shared cultural and linguistic legacy with roots in Spain and Portugal, and to a lesser extent France, many points of etiquette in Europe are applicable, especially those specific to those nations.
Compared to much of the English-speaking world, people from areas of Latin America may demonstrate more relaxed and casual behavior and be more comfortable with loud talk, exaggerated gestures and physical contact.
In addition, many Latin American people have a smaller sense of personal space than people from English-speaking cultures. It may be rude to step away from someone when they are stepping closer.
In addition to varying greatly from one individual to another and along various demographic lines, this tendency towards comparatively warm and relaxed behavior does not necessarily hold true among many communities of indigenous peoples, including those who have adopted Spanish or Portuguese as their primary language.
At some finer restaurants, it may be considered rude for the staff to bring a customer the check without the customer first requesting it.
Getting the last snack or canape left in a plate makes the person seem rude/greedy.
It is considered impolite to "toss" objects to people instead of directly handing it to them.
At the workplace, indiscretions, errors or overall poor performance should be pointed out in private. Mentioning them in front of other colleagues (such as in a meeting) is perceived as hostile.
The American "come here" gesture of palm upwards with the fingers curled back can be considered a romantic solicitation.
Throughout Latin America, there are communities of people with strong ethnic and cultural ties to other parts of the world. One example is the 1.5 million strong Japanese Brazilian community for whom certain points of etiquette in Asia may be applicable. Some of these same points of etiquette would apply in Chinatowns in Latin America. Argentina has large communities of German Argentines, Irish Argentines, and so on.
In many instances, points of etiquette applicable to Latin America will also hold true with Latino people in the United States.
Specific regions
The following points of etiquette apply most specifically to a certain region:
Argentina
Apart from going to church, Sunday is commonly the day Argentines gather in family for lunch or dinner.
Table manners are Continental - hold the fork in the left hand and the knife in the right while eating.
Do not begin eating until the hostess invites you to do so.
Wait for a toast to be made before taking the first sip of your drink.
Pouring wine is beset with many rituals and cultural taboos. If at all possible, avoid pouring wine.
A kiss in the cheek with or without a hug is a standard greeting amongst both men and women, except in very formal settings.
Bolivia
There are important differences in social interactions and customs between the Andean area and the lowlands. The following apply mostly in the Andean area.
When hosting you need to serve any kind of food to your guest and insist that they eat. Putting a plate of finger food in the middle for people to help themselves creates an awkward situation for most Bolivians.
Bolivians acting as host will often belittle and apologize for the food they are serving. This is just politeness.
When you finish eating in company, even strangers, you must say Buen provecho or Que aproveche. This is answered with gracias.
In the countryside guests will be served a plate and left alone to eat. This is courtesy and goes on until you've been accepted as a close friend of the family.
