Mo's Restaurants are a restaurant chain located on the Oregon Coast and headquartered in Newport, Oregon. Mo's are named after their original owner Mahave "Mo" Niemi, who was once described as "the stuff of legend in Newport".Mo's restaurants serve primarily seafood and have long been noted for their New England style clam chowder, their own locally raised Yaquina Bay oysters and for their casual and friendly atmosphere.Contents1 History 2 Expansion 3 Recognition 4 Notes and References 5 External links // HistoryMo's first opened on the Newport bay front in 1946 as "Freddie & Mo's" 24 hour restaurant that served the local loggers and fisherman such fare as spaghetti and steaks. Niemi's business partner Freddie Kent became ill a few years later and Niemi bought out her partner's shares of the restaurant. In the following years Mo's served more and more seafood, the clam chowder recipe evolved over time as the cooks would vie with each other to produce a better version.Over time Mo's would become a favorite, not just of locals, but of tourists and celebrities as well. Mo's second husband, retired fisherman Kaino "Dutch" Niemi along with friends often gathered at a table contributing to the "family" atmosphere of the restaurant.Great-granddaughter of Mo, Gabrielle McEntee-Wilson recalls in an interview "Granny Mo" saying (in regards to Mo's popularity) "The hippies discovered Mo's" during the 'sixties." According to McEntee-Wilson "It (Mo's) wasn't a conceptt grew on its own and changed over time."Henry Fonda, Paul Newman and other cast members of the film Sometimes a Great Notion (based on a novel by Ken Kesey about a dysfunctional family of Oregon coast loggers) ate there during location filming. Mo appears in one scene of the film as an extra. The scene was filmed in Newport's Old Bay Inn, (renamed the The Snag in the film). Mo and her father once owned the Inn in the early 1940s.Mo opening the garage door.Oregon Governor Tom McCall and Senator Mark Hatfield and other Oregon politicians ate there as well. In 1973 Audrey McCall, wife of the Governor, arranged for the spouses of the Governors attending the Western Governors' Conference to have lunch at Mo's on the waterfront.Senator Robert F. Kennedy and his wife Ethel also visited the restaurant while he was campaigning for the Democratic Party 1968 Oregon primary election on May 24th, 1968.The original Newport Mo's has an unusual front wall for a restaurant. One day a customer accidentally left her car in forward gear instead of reverse while leaving and crashed through the front wall. Mo consoled the woman, saying, "Well, we'll just put in a garage door so we can open it and you can drive in anytime if that's what you want to do". On warm sunny days the door is opened transforming Mo's into a sidewalk cafe. The door itself, pictured at right, remains basically unchanged since its installation and features a picture on its interior showing a woman driving her car through the door, an alarmed look on her face.ExpansionOver the years Niemi opened additional Mo's restaurants, one across the street from the original in Newport overlooking the bay (Mo's Annex) and Mo's West at Otter Rock. The original Mo's was also remodeled and expanded several times, in addition to the restaurant the building now houses a clam chowder factory which provides the base for the restaurants. It is also sold online and is distributed to grocery stores in 14 states. Over the course of a year, the factory will make over 500,000 pounds of fresh chowder. The factory will process one ton of bacon a week and one ton of potatoes per day.The original restaurants and chowder factory are family owned and operate as Mo's Enterprises. In 1970 Mo partnered with another Newport business owner Tom Becker to purchase an oyster farm and formed a company that would become known as Newport Pacific Corporation. This company now operates additional Mo's in Florence, Lincoln City and Cannon Beach. Mo Niemi passed away in 1992. Several of Niemi's surviving family serve on the board of directors of Newport Pacific.RecognitionMo NiemiIn 1999 Mo's clam chowder was served at a Smithsonian Institution luncheon honoring "Best American Regional Foods".In 2001, Cindy McEntee, owner of Mo's Enterprises, was named the Small Business Administration's Small Businessperson of the Year for Oregon and was the first runner-up (of four nationwide nominees) for SBA's National Business Person of the Year. She was lauded during the Oregon presentation "for continuing a tradition of great food and outstanding generosity to employees, customers and community. (McEntee) demonstrates that commitment to serving fellow human beings is the path to business success".Rogue Ales, an Oregon craft brewery, also headquartered in...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about security entry door, interior steel door, . I want to introduct something about Custom Tailored Hand Made Dress Suits An Shirts. Contact me if you would consider selling custom tailored suits that retail for only $99.00 and dress shirts for only $29.95 also custom made.I know your already asking the question what can you get for $99.00 (must be cheap material) well consider this, there are 20 stitches per inch to ensure durability. Even the most expensive ready-made shirts have at the most 12 stitches per inch. There are 10,000 stitches at 120 production steps - in the making of each shirt! For every ounce of weaving thread, two fine cotton threads 1.4 miles long are evenly twisted together, giving a silky-smooth, light poplin that is unusually elegant but also extremely strong. Wide stays hold the collar stiff. The buttons are carefully sewn on and will not fall off like with other shirts. Now let's take this a step further do you think you have what it takes to put together a sales force team that would sell shirts and suits everyday and you would be paid for there sales volume.I think every man deserves at least one(or more) cust Woman jogging with a dogJogging is a form of trotting or running at a slow or leisurely pace. The main intention is to increase fitness with less stress on the body than from faster running.Contents1 Definition 2 History 3 Exercise 4 Notes 5 References 6 External links // DefinitionThe definition of jogging as compared with running is not standard. Dr. George Sheehan, a running expert, is quoted to have said "the difference between a jogger and a runner is an entry blank". Others are usually more specific, defining jogging as running slower than 6 mph (10 minute per mile pace, 10 km/h, 6 min/km).HistoryIn 1593 William Shakespeare wrote in Taming of the Shrew, Katerina tells off a gentleman to go jogging till his boots go green; this was a proverb meaning going when you are most ready or able. The etymology of the word is unknown, but it may be related to shog or be a new invention in the sixteenth century. At that point, it usually meant to leave. The terms to jog and jogging as referring to a form of exercise, originated in England in the mid seventeenth century. This usage became common throughout the British Empire and in his 1884 novel My Run Home the Australian author Rolf Boldrewood wrote "your bedroom curtains were still drawn as I passed on my morning jog".In the United States jogging was also called "roadwork" when athletes in training, such as boxers, customarily ran several miles each day as part of their conditioning. In New Zealand during the 1960s or 1970s the word "roadwork" was mostly supplanted by the word "jogging", promoted by coach Arthur Lydiard, who is generally crediting with popularizing jogging. The idea of jogging as an organised activity was mooted in a sports page article in the New Zealand Herald in February 1962, which told of a group of former athletes and fitness enthusiasts who would meet once a week to run for "fitness and sociability". Since they would be jogging, the newspaper suggested that the club "may be called the Auckland Joggers Club"hich is thought to be the first use of the noun "jogger". University of Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman, after jogging with Lydiard in New Zealand, brought the concept of jogging as exercise to the United States in 1962. Bowerman published the book Jogging in 1966, and later updated the book for a 1967 republication. Bowerman established jogging programs for men and women of all ages. The popularity of these programs helped to spread the concept of jogging, as an exercise for everyone, throughout the United States.ExerciseMembers of the United States Air Force Academy American football team jog on Waikiki Beach, Hawaii.Jogging is often used by serious runners as a means of active recovery during interval training. The runner who may just have completed a fast 400 metre repetition at a sub-5-minute mile pace, may drop to an 8-minute mile pace for a recovery lap.Like other types of aerobic exercise, jogging is an excellent means of improving cardiovascular health, bone density, and physical fitness.Notes^ Running Quotes, Sayings about Runners, Jogging Quotations ^ BBC SPORT Health & Fitness Are you running properly? ^ The Taming of the Shrew ^ Think on My Words ^ Bowerman, William J., W.E. The name is derived from a type of seaweed that is abundant along the Irish coastline. Gelatinous extracts of the Chondrus crispus seaweed have been used as food additives for hundreds of years, though analysis of carrageenan safety as an additive continues.Contents1 Properties 2 Uses 2.1 Sexual lubricant and microbicide 2.1.1 HSV 2.1.2 HPV 2.1.3 HIV 3 Health concerns 4 See also 5 References // PropertiesCarrageenans are large, highly flexible molecules which curl forming helical structures. This gives them the ability to form a variety of different gels at room temperature. They are widely used in the food and other industries as thickening and stabilizing agents. A particular advantage is that they are pseudoplastic they thin under shear stress and recover their viscosity once the stress is removed. This means that they are easy to pump but stiffen again afterwards. There are three main commercial classes of carrageenan:Kappa strong, rigid gels. Produced from Kappaphycus cottonii Iota soft gels. Produced from Eucheuma spinosum Lambda form gels when mixed with proteins rather than water, used to thicken dairy products. The most common source is Gigartina from Southern Europe. Many red algal species produce different types of carrageenans during their developmental history. For instance, the genus Gigartina produces mainly Kappa carrageenans during its gametophytic stage, and Lambda carrageenans during its sporophytic stage. See Alternation of generations. All are soluble in hot water, but in cold water only the Lambda form (and the sodium salts of the other two) are soluble. When used in food products, carrageenan has the EU additive E-number E407 or E407a when present as "Processed eucheuma seaweed". Although introduced on an industrial scale in the 1930s, the first use was in China around 600 BC (where Gigartina was used) and in Ireland around 400 AD.The largest producer is the Philippines, where cultivated seaweed produces about 80% of the world supply. The most commonly used are Cottonii (Kappaphycus alvarezii, K.striatum) and Spinosum (Eucheuma denticulatum), which together provide about three quarters of the world production. These grow at sea level down to about 2 metres. The seaweed is normally grown on nylon lines strung between bamboo floats and harvested after three months or so when each plant weighs around 1 kg.The Cottonii variety has been reclassified as Kappaphycus cottonii by Maxwell Doty (1988), thereby introducing the genus Kappaphycus, on the basis of the phycocolloids produced (namely kappa carrageenan). After harvest, the seaweed is dried, baled, and sent to the carrageenan manufacturer. There the seaweed is ground, sifted to remove impurities such as sand, and washed thoroughly. After treatment with hot alkali solution (e.g. 5-8% potassium hydroxide), the cellulose is removed from the carrageenan by centrifugation and filtration. The resulting carrageenan solution is then concentrated by evaporation. It is dried and ground to specification.UsesDesserts, ice cream, milk shakes, sweetened condensed milks, sauces gel to increase viscosity Beer clarifier to remove haze-causing proteins Pat and processed meat Substitute fat to increase water retention and increase volume Toothpaste stabilizer to prevent constituents separating Fruit Gushers ingredient in the encapsulated gel. Fire fighting foam thickener to cause foam to become sticky Shampoo and cosmetic creams thickener Air freshener gels Marbling -- the ancient art of paper and fabric marbling uses a carrageenan mixture to float paints or inks upon; the paper or fabric is then laid on it, absorbing the colors. Shoe polish gel to increase viscosity Biotechnology gel to immobilize cells/enzymes Pharmaceuticals used as an inactive excipient in pills/tablets Carrageenan has also been used to thicken skim milk, in an attempt to emulate the consistency of whole milk. This usage did not become popular. It's used in some brands of soy milk Diet sodas Soy milk Personal lubricants Lambda carrageenan is used in animal models of inflammation used to test analgesics, because dilute carrageenan solution (1-2%) injected subcutaneously causes swelling and pain. Sexual lubricant and microbicideLaboratory studies suggest that carrageenans might function as topical microbicides, blocking sexually transmitted viruses such as HPV and herpes, though not HIV.HSVThere are indications that a carrageenan-based gel may offer some protection against HSV-2 transmission by binding to the receptors...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about , . The M90 (Model 1990) is in camouflage colors, but as such it exists only in two schemes, woodland and desert. The desert type is new and was handed out to the Swedish contingent in Afghanistan in 2006. The uniform has also been undergoing some R&D lately, and it is possible that new materials such as Gore Tex and Kevlar will be used in the future to further strengthen and adapt the uniform to special conditions. It also exists different combat variants like the M90P, which stands for Model 1990 Pansar, i.e. special uniform for the armoured units and Tank regiments (Pansarregemente). This uniform has more different kinds of pockets, like clip pockets. The tank crews normally does not wear combat vests because of the narrow space inside the tanks.HistoryTowards the end of the 17th century Swedish king Karl XI started to reform his army. He brought in new equipment, new tactics and new formations. Transforming the northern country into a military state much like 18th century Prussia. Karl XI also introduced Sweden's, and possibly the world's, first standard issue army uniform in 1693.The king was very detail minded, and so he checked the individual soldiers and units many times over the years. The show served as a launchpad for the television and acting careers of Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera. Since 2002, two Jackass theatrical films have been produced and released by MTV corporate sibling Paramount Pictures, continuing the franchise after its run on television. It is one of MTV's most popular shows ever and sparked several spin-offs including Viva La Bam, Wildboyz, Homewrecker, Dr. Steve-O, and Blastazoid. In 2008, Entertainment Weekly called Jackass the 68th greatest show of the past 25 years Contents1 History 1.1 Birth of the show 1.2 Controversy 1.3 Ending and farewell 1.4 Jackass: The Movie 1.5 Life after Jackass 1.6 Jackass Number Two 1.7 Possible return and Jackassworld 2 Jackass: The Game 3 Cast and Crew 3.1 Main Cast Members 3.2 Recurring Cast Members 3.3 Crew 3.4 Celebrity appearances 4 Similar groups 5 References 6 External links // HistoryBirth of the showThe show developed from Big Brother Magazine, a skateboarding-related humor magazine that Jeff Tremaine, Dave Carnie, Rick Kosick and Chris Pontius all worked for, and featured regular contributions from Johnny Knoxville and Dave England, among others. The concept of Jackass dates back to 1999 when struggling-actor-turned-writer Johnny Knoxville birthed the idea to test different self defense devices on himself as the basis for an article. He pitched the idea to a couple of magazines and was turned down until meeting with Jeff Tremaine of Big Brother. Jeff hired him as a journalist and convinced Johnny to videotape this idea and other stunts for stories. The footage, which involved Knoxville being tasered, maced, and ultimately shot while wearing a bulletproof vest, appeared in the second Big Brother skateboarding movie Number Two (which is also the title of the second Jackass theatrical film) Johnny and the videos quickly became a hit. Future Jackass castmember Wee-Man made an appearance in the videos, and Florida clown Steve-O would send in submissions to be part of the videos. Big Brother would go on road trips, which is believed to be where Johnny met Bam Margera and they became good friends. In addition to skateboarding, Bam Margera had recently released a movie entitled Landspeed:CKY which consisted of himself and his friends, which he dubbed the "CKY Crew", in West Chester, Pennsylvania performing various skits and stunts. Among the Crew included the colorful cast of Ryan Dunn, Brandon Dicamillo, as well as Margera's family April, Phil, Don Vito, and Jess Margera. Jeff Tremaine saw the tapes and drafted Bam and his crew into what would become the cast of Jackass. Later, the Jackass crew would personally recruit Steve-O in a Florida Flea Market where he worked as a clown for part of the show. To round out the cast, Dave England brought in his friend Ehren McGhehey, a fellow Oregon resident and extreme stunt participator. Tremaine drafted his friend, director Spike Jonze to get involved with the show, and together, he, Jonze, and Johnny Knoxville served as executive producers. The idea show was pitched, and the cast was initially given an offer by Saturday Night Live to perform the stunts weekly for the show, though the offer was turned down. A bidding war eventually occurred between Comedy Central and MTV, which MTV eventually won. It was then that Jackass was born. ControversySince the first episode, Jackass frequently featured warnings and disclaimers noting that the stunts performed were dangerous and should not be imitated, and that recordings of any stunts would not be aired on MTV. Such warnings not only appeared before and after each program and after each commercial break, but also in a "crawl" that ran along the bottom of the screen during some especially risky stunts. Nevertheless, the program has been blamed for a number of deaths and injuries involving teens and children recreating the stunts.[citation needed]On January 29, 2001, U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman publicly...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about new pocket watches, aluminium foil containers, . Another common type of a sleepover is a lock-in, where the participants stay at a public place.Common activitiesTypical participant activities include staying up late, talking, eating and playing until falling asleep, which sometimes never happens for a few energy-high guests. Sleepovers are usually held at one participant's house, with other guests sometimes bringing their bedtime things, such as pillows or sleeping bags. Common activities include playing board games or video games, having pillow fights, watching movies, ordering pizza, eating sweets, playing party games such as Truth or Dare and light as a feather, stiff as a board, building forts out of pillows and blankets, or, for girls, having a "spa night", in which girls polish their nails and toes and put on face masks. Sleepovers are practiced by both girls and boys. As expectations regarding good manners differ from person to person and vary according to each situation, no treatise on the rules of etiquette nor any list of faux pas can ever be complete. As the perception of behaviors and actions vary, intercultural competence is essential. However, a lack of knowledge about the customs and expectations of people of Latin America can make even the best intentioned person seem rude, foolish, or worse.

Generalizations
There are several definitions of Latin America, but all of them define a huge expansive of geography with an incalculable amount of different customs, However, some generalizations can be made:
As every definition of Latin America connotes a shared cultural and linguistic legacy with roots in Spain and Portugal, and to a lesser extent France, many points of etiquette in Europe are applicable, especially those specific to those nations.
Compared to much of the English-speaking world, people from areas of Latin America may demonstrate more relaxed and casual behavior and be more comfortable with loud talk, exaggerated gestures and physical contact.
In addition, many Latin American people have a smaller sense of personal space than people from English-speaking cultures. It may be rude to step away from someone when they are stepping closer.
In addition to varying greatly from one individual to another and along various demographic lines, this tendency towards comparatively warm and relaxed behavior does not necessarily hold true among many communities of indigenous peoples, including those who have adopted Spanish or Portuguese as their primary language.
At some finer restaurants, it may be considered rude for the staff to bring a customer the check without the customer first requesting it.
Getting the last snack or canape left in a plate makes the person seem rude/greedy.
It is considered impolite to "toss" objects to people instead of directly handing it to them.
At the workplace, indiscretions, errors or overall poor performance should be pointed out in private. Mentioning them in front of other colleagues (such as in a meeting) is perceived as hostile.
The American "come here" gesture of palm upwards with the fingers curled back can be considered a romantic solicitation.
Throughout Latin America, there are communities of people with strong ethnic and cultural ties to other parts of the world. One example is the 1.5 million strong Japanese Brazilian community for whom certain points of etiquette in Asia may be applicable. Some of these same points of etiquette would apply in Chinatowns in Latin America. Argentina has large communities of German Argentines, Irish Argentines, and so on.
In many instances, points of etiquette applicable to Latin America will also hold true with Latino people in the United States.
Specific regions
The following points of etiquette apply most specifically to a certain region:
Argentina
Apart from going to church, Sunday is commonly the day Argentines gather in family for lunch or dinner.
Table manners are Continental - hold the fork in the left hand and the knife in the right while eating.
Do not begin eating until the hostess invites you to do so.
Wait for a toast to be made before taking the first sip of your drink.
Pouring wine is beset with many rituals and cultural taboos. If at all possible, avoid pouring wine.
A kiss in the cheek with or without a hug is a standard greeting amongst both men and women, except in very formal settings.
Bolivia
There are important differences in social interactions and customs between the Andean area and the lowlands. The following apply mostly in the Andean area.
When hosting you need to serve any kind of food to your guest and insist that they eat. Putting a plate of finger food in the middle for people to help themselves creates an awkward situation for most Bolivians.
Bolivians acting as host will often belittle and apologize for the food they are serving. This is just politeness.
When you finish eating in company, even strangers, you must say Buen provecho or Que aproveche. This is answered with gracias.
In the countryside guests will be served a plate and left alone to eat. This is courtesy and goes on until you've been accepted as a close friend of the family.
Andean people are not very tactile. Rather than hugging, men will tap each other's shoulders. Cheek-kissing with women is a city thing. ROM Updates
On August 27, 2008, HTC released a ROM update adding Windows Mobile 6.1 to the XV6800 (Verizon Wireless) variant of the device. However, this release blocks A-GPS access to all but applications which have been digitally signed by Verizon Wireless. Currently this is only VZ Navigator. Verizon has said that they will digitally sign other applications, and hackers have released a software patch which bypasses the limitation.
On July 21, 2008, HTC released a ROM update for the Sprint Mogul, which added Windows Mobile 6.1 to the device. It also added Sprint TV service.
On March 10, 2008, HTC released a ROM update for the Sprint Mogul which enables EVDO Rev. A and AGPS functionality. The ROM update also adds a Task Manager and corrects bugs in the phone's Bluetooth implementation and Windows Live Messenger.
A ROM update for the Telus HTC P4000, dated July 27, 2007, is available. The shipping ROM is available from HTC.
Several ROM updates are available from UTStarcom, including one for the Sprint Mogul dated July 16, 2007 and the shipping ROM for the Bell HTC 6800.
Any ROM update will return the phone to a factory state, so users should backup all data before upgrading.

GPS Compatibility
Users of this phone have successfully installed and used other GPS map software applications (such as Tracky, iGuidance, TomTom, Fugawi, Garmin Mobile XT, CoPilot Live, Google Maps, and Microsoft's Live Search for Windows Mobile), which do not charge a service fee. The map applications are compatible with the built-in GPS receiver, provided users set the appropriate COM port for the map application. The built-in GPS receiver was intended by some wireless providers to be used preferably with Telenav, which is a service that charges users monthly fees or fees based on the amount of downloaded map data. It should be noted that Telenav can only provide map data in areas where applicable cellular phone services are available and that users must have a data plan with their wireless providers.[citations needed]
The GPS may not activate when the phone is used indoors (or without access to clear sky) or if the person is walking very slowly (< 1 mile/hour). External GPS antenna connection provision is provided[citations needed] for clear signal reception. Its important for the GPS to be activated for the various functions in the GPS software to be activated and used properly.

Hand Painted Gifts (Redirected from Fire cracker)For other uses, see Firecracker (disambiguation).Exploding firecrackerA firecracker (also known as a cracker, noise maker, banger or bunger) is a small explosive device primarily designed to produce a large amount of noise, especially in the form of a loud bang; any visual effect is incidental to this goal. They have fuses, and are wrapped in a heavy paper casing, to contain the explosive compound. Firecrackers, along with fireworks originated in China.Contents1 Culture 2 Legality of firecrackers 2.1 Novelty noise makers 3 Firecracker brands, packs and labels 4 Collecting 4.1 Condition-Grading Scale (G/S) 5 Classifications 6 See also 7 References 8 External links // CultureTwo men dressed as colonial soldiers carry a banner, exploding firecrackers, commemorating Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators as part of Lewes Bonfire Night celebrations.Firecrackers are commonly used in celebration of holidays or festivals, such as Shab-e-Barat In Pakistan, Halloween, Independence Day in the United States of America, Diwali in India, Hari Raya in Malaysia, and especially the celebration of Chinese New Year by Chinese communities around the world and Spanish Fallas. Firecrackers were also used by the Vietnamese during their T?t festival especially at midnight Giao Th?a (New Year's Eve).Legality of firecrackersFirecrackers, as well as other types of explosives, in United States are subject to various laws, depending on location. Firecrackers themselves are not considered illegal contraband material. It is the sale, possession, and use of firecrackers that are subject to laws. Some states or local governments require a permit to legally sell, possess, or use firecrackers; sometimes with different permits for different actions, e.g., a permit required to sell, with a separate permit required to use. Prior to December 6, 1976, the legal limit in the United States for firecrackers was a maximum of 2 grains of blackpowder (130 mg); after this date, the legal limit in the United States was reduced to 50 mg (0.77 grains) of flash powder.Virtually all firecrackers are scientifically classed as "low explosives" which burn through deflagration, as opposed to "high explosives" such as dynamite and ANFO which actually produce a supersonic detonation wave. Some legal definitions nevertheless define banned firecrackers (such as the M-80 in the United States) as "Class B Explosives" which requires their storage in an explosives magazine and an ATF high explosives license for their manufacture. The legal status of firecrackers typically stems from their notable effect on noise pollution as well as the issue of their safety, especially when used by children. Devices which are designed to explode at ground level are seen as more dangerous than those with a prolonged burn time and/or an aerial explosion. Proponents of firecracker sales sometimes question the consistency of these laws, pointing out that legal fireworks can also be dangerous due to the risk of high-temperature burns (as in the case of sparklers), and that projectile fireworks intended for aerial use can often legally incorporate a noise making explosive device as a last stage. In Malaysia, playing with firecrackers is now illegal as stated from Malaysian Explosive Act which was revised in 1991 as a result of the increasing injuries among children (especially Malay) during Hari Raya festive season. Ironically, the injury cases caused by playing firecrackers continue to increase every year since Malay children turned to home-made firecrackers such as bamboo cannons as alternatives to commercial fireworks. In the Republic of Ireland, firecrackers (commonly called "bangers") are illegal, but they are easily smuggled across the border with Northern Ireland in the weeks leading up to Hallowe'en.In Sweden, firecrackers became completely illegal December 1st, 2000.In Singapore, a partial ban on firecrackers was imposed in March 1970 after a fire killed six people and injured 68. This was extended to a total ban in August 1972, after an explosion that killed two people and an attack on two police officers attempting to stop a group from letting off firecrackers in February 1972. However, in 2003, the government allowed firecrackers to be set off during the festive season. At the Chinese New Year light-up in Chinatown, at the stroke of midnight on the first day of the Lunar New Year, firecrackers are set off under controlled conditions by the Singapore Tourism Board. Other occasions where firecrackers are allowed to be set off are determined by the tourism board or other government organizations. However, they are not allowed to be commercially sold. Some firecrackers are legal but restrictions are in place regarding the amount of powder they...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about china doll tattoos, textile car flag, . It was the last project of American architect James Ingo Freed (known for the design of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum) with the firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners for the United States Air Force Memorial Foundation.Contents1 History 2 Design 3 References 4 External links // HistoryIn January 1992, the Air Force Memorial Foundation was incorporated to pursue the development of a memorial that would honor the people in the United States Air Force. In December 1993, President William Clinton signed Pub.L. 103-163 authorizing the Air Force Memorial. In 1994, the National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission approved a site adjacent to Marshall Drive and State Route 110, down the hill from the Netherlands Carillon, known as Arlington Ridge. Fund raising and detailed designs began.Because the site was near the United States Marine Corps Memorial, which is just north of the Carillon, various Marine groups were briefed on the plans without voicing objections. However, on July 30, 1997, Congressman Gerald B.H. Solomon (R-NY), a Marine veteran, introduced a bill to prohibit the construction of any monument, memorial or other structure "within view" of the Iwo Jima Memorial. The Air Force Association organized support for the memorial on behalf of its membership and Air Force veterans, and the issue became a polarizing one between the services. On September 16, 1997, the Friends of Iwo Jima and Solomon filed for a Temporary Restraining Order against the construction of the Air Force Memorial, which was dismissed on June 15, 1998. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit then dismissed the appeal of that decision on May 7, 1999. Faced with the cost of litigation and the opposition of prominent Marine veterans in Congress, the Foundation agreed to move the Memorial to its present site on the grounds of Fort Myer just south of Arlington National Cemetery.Fireworks at the U.S. Air Force Memorial dedication ceremonyOn December 28, 2001, President George W. Bush signed the Defense Authorization Bill, which included a rider directing the Department of Defense to make available to the Air Force Memorial Foundation up to 3acres (12,000m2) of the Naval Annex property for use as the location for the Air Force Memorial. Formal groundbreaking of the site was held in September 2004. Construction of the spires began in February 2006 and was completed in seven months. The Memorial was dedicated on October 14, 2006, with approximately 30,000 persons attending. The keynote address was delivered by President Bush, a former F-102 Delta Dagger pilot in the National Guard. The first official ceremony at the memorial was held the next day when Secretary of the Air Force Michael Wynne laid a memorial wreath for fallen airmen beneath the spires."To all who have climbed sunward and chased the shouting wind, America stops to say: your service and your sacrifice will be remembered forever, and honored in this place by the citizens of a free and grateful nation." resident George W. Schematic drawing of a puddling furnace
Puddling was an Industrial Revolution means of making iron and steel. In the original puddling technique, molten iron in a reverberatory furnace was stirred with rods, which were consumed in the process. Later, it was also used to produce a good-quality steel with the correct amount of carbon; this was a highly skilled art, but both high-carbon and low-carbon steels were successfully produced on a small scale, particularly for swords and other weapons.

History
Puddling was the first true industrial process to make steel from pig iron. A primitive version of the process was known in China already in the 3rd century. The pig iron tapped off the blast furnace was puddled with iron bars, bringing it into it contact with oxygen in the air and burning off any surplus carbon.
In Europe, the process was one of several that were developed in the second half of the 18th century for producing bar iron from pig iron without the use of charcoal. It was invented by Henry Cort at Fontley in Hampshire in 178384 and patented in 1784. A superficially similar (but probably less effective) process was patented the previous year by Peter Onions. Cort's process consisted of stirring molten pig iron in a reverberatory furnace in an oxidising atmosphere, thus decarburising it. When the iron 'came to nature', that is, to a pasty consistency, it was gathered into a puddled ball, shingled, and rolled (as described above). This application of the rolling mill was also Cort's invention.
Unfortunately, Cort's process (as patented) only worked for white cast iron, not grey cast iron, which was the usual feedstock for forges of the period. This problem was resolved probably at Merthyr Tydfil by combining puddling with one element of a slightly earlier process. This involved another kind of hearth known as a 'refinery' or 'running out fire'.[1] The pig iron was melted in this and run out into a trough. The slag separated, and floated on the molten iron, and was removed by lowering a dam at the end of the trough. The effect of this process was to desiliconise the metal, leaving a white brittle metal, known as 'finers metal'. This was the ideal material to charge to the puddling furnace. This version of the process was known as 'dry puddling' and continued in use in some places as late as 1890.
The alternative to refining gray iron was known as 'wet puddling', also known as 'boiling' or 'pig boiling'. This was invented by a puddler called Joseph Hall at Tipton. He began adding scrap iron to the charge. Later he tried adding iron scale (in effect, rust). The result was spectacular in that the furnace boiled violently. This was in fact a chemical reaction between the oxidised iron in the scale and the carbon dissolved in the pig iron. Again to his surprise, the resultant puddle ball produced good iron. Hall subsequently became a partner in establishing the Bloomfield ironworks at Tipton in 1830, the firm becoming Bradley, Barrows and Hall from 1834. This is the version of the process most commonly used in the mid to late 19th century. Wet puddling had the advantage that it was much more efficient than dry puddling (or any earlier process). The best yield of iron achievable from dry puddling is a ton of iron from 1.3 tons of pig iron, but the yield from wet puddling was close to 1.0.
The production of mild steel in the puddling furnace was only achieved in about 1850 in Westphalia in Germany and was patented in Great Britain on behalf of Lohage, Bremme and Lehrkind. It only worked with pig iron made from certain kinds of ore. The cast iron had to be melted quickly and the slag to be rich in manganese. When the metal came to nature, it had to be removed quickly and shingled before further carburisation occurred. The process was taken up at the Low Moor Ironworks at Bradford in Yorkshire (England) in 1851 and in the Loire valley in France in 1855. It was widely used.
The puddling process began to be displaced with the introduction of the Bessemer process, which produced steel, which could then be converted into wrought iron using the Aston process for a fraction of the cost and time. For comparison, an average size charge for a puddling furnace was 800900lbs (360410kg)[2] while a Bessemer converter charge was 15 short tons (13,600kg). The puddling process could not be scaled up, being limited by the amount that the puddler could handle. It could only be expanded by building more furnaces.

Cartiers SA is a French jeweller and watch manufacturer that is a subsidiary of Compagnie Financie Richemont SA. The corporation carries the name of the Cartier family of jewelers whose control ended in 1964 and who were known for numerous pieces including the famous[citation needed] "Bestiary" (best illustrated by the famous Panthe brooch of the 1940s created for Wallis Simpson), the diamond necklace created for Yadavindra Singh the Maharaja of Patiala and in 1904 the first practical wristwatch, the "Santos." Cartier SA is headquartered in Paris.
The company has a long and distinguished history of serving royalty, as well as stars and celebities. One Prince of Wales hailed Cartier as "Joaillier des Rois, Roi des Joailliers" (Jeweller to Kings, King of Jewellers"). Cartier received an order for 27 tiaras for the coronation of the future King. King Edward VII was crowned in 1902 and in 1904 he honoured the Company with the Royal warrant of supplier to the Royal Court of England. Similar warrants soon followed from the courts of Spain, Portugal, Russia, Siam, Greece, Serbia, Belgium, Romania, Egypt and finally Albania, and also from the House of Orleans and the Principality of Monaco.
Cartier is at present the no. 1 seller of luxury jewellery in the world, and the no. 2 seller of luxury watches (after Rolex).[citation needed]

History
Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-Fran?ois Cartier when he took over the workshop of his master.[1] In 1874, his son Alfred Cartier took over the administration of the company, but it was Alfred's sons Louis, Pierre and Jacques, who were responsible for establishing the world-wide brand name of Cartier.
In 1904, the Brazilian aviator, Alberto Santos-Dumont complained of the unreliability and impracticality of using pocket watches while flying to his friend Louis Cartier. Cartier rose to the challenge, designing a flat wristwatch with a distinctive square bezel. This watch was not only a hit with Santos-Dumont, but also with Cartier's many clients. Thus, out of this timeless design, the "Santos" was born. This was the first men's wristwatch (Patek Phillipe made the first wristwatch, but for a woman and as a one-off).
Louis retained responsibility for the Paris branch, moving to the Rue de la Paix, in 1899. He was responsible for some of the company's most celebrated designs, like the mystery clocks[2] (a type of clock with a transparent dial and so named because their works are hidden[3]), fashionable wristwatches and exotic orientalist Art Deco designs, including the colorful "Tutti Frutti" jewels.
In 1907, Cartier signed a contract with Edmond Jaeger, who agreed to exclusively supply the movements for Cartier watches. By this time, Cartier had branches in London, New York and St. Petersburg and was quickly becoming one of the most successful watch companies in the world. The introduction of the Baignoire and Tortue models (both of which are still in production today) took place in 1912, followed by the Tank model's debut in 1917. In 1932, they manufactured a watertight watch made especially for the Pasha of Marrakesh.[citation needed]
In 1917, inspired by the newly introduced war machines on the Western Front, Louis Cartier designed the most famous Cartier watch, the Cartier Tank watch. This line too has survived, with over thirty varieties now being made.
In the early 1920s Cartier formed a joint company with Edward Jaeger (of the famed Jaeger-LeCoultre company) to produce movements solely for Cartier. Thus was the famed European watch & clock company born, although Cartier continued to use movements from other great makers. Cartier watches can be found with movements from Vacheron Constantin, Audemars-Piguet, Movado and LeCoultre. It was also during this period that Cartier began adding its own reference numbers to the watches it sold, usually by stamping a four-digit code on the underside of a lug. In fact, many collectors refuse to accept a Cartier as original, unless these numbers are present.[citation needed]
Jacques took charge of the London operation and eventually moved to the current address at New Bond Street.
